I’m all for seizing the moment but it’s important to ensure we do this whilst treading on as few toes as possible. This blog gives you a few pointers how. Like..

In this blog, I ask what’s wrong with the way we eat now- too much meat, too few plants, too much fast food, too little home cooking, and it’s putting the entire planet at risk.

We all know the arguments that being veggie is better for the environment & for the animals- but in a carnivorous culture, it can be hard to make the change.

So I ask you this: Knowing what you know- why are you not a vegetarian?

In case you’ve forgotten- firstly, there’s the cruelty- the 10billion animals raised each year for meat in factory farm conditions that we hypocritically wouldn’t even consider for our own cats, dogs and other pets.

Environmentally- meat amazingly causes more emissions than all of transportation combined.

Beef production uses 100 times the water vegetables do.

So from any one of these angles why do people stall making the switch? Perhaps because It’s human nature to commit to doing it later, but then later never comes..

You are not alone. For what used to be a treat in the 1950’s is now a staple. We as a society are eating twice as much meat.

I’d like this to change & offer a simple solution…why follow the binary way- instead, start like this.. Be a weekday veg & as a reward, have the option of choosing sustainably harvested fish at the weekends.

Follow these simple footsteps & you’ll find your footprints becoming smaller!

Just think, If all of us ate half as much meat it would be like half of us are vegetarians!

Appreciating the Natural World

All species become extinct over time- this is simply a natural progression or ‘evolution’: The way the world works. However, our influence on the earth is causing the rate of extinction to increase without old species being replaced by new ones. This is not natural. It’s irresponsible. Habitats across the globe are losing dozens of species each day, not to mention those unaccounted for & that have become extinct before scientists have even had time to study or label them!

In our bustling every day lives we rarely notice all the beauty that surrounds us.  So next time you walk down the street, try banishing the mundane chit chatter, close your ears to the drilling & traffic congestion, & replace it with the sweet sounds of birds chirruping.

Which brings me on to this blog- dedicated to the beauty of the natural world: A bounty of fresh colors & expressions to wonderfully capture the imagination.

Nobody can perfect the world, but every effort we put forward counts. Thus, I believe that even if I only inspire a handful of people to help themselves, the animals & the planet as a whole, then it’s been worth it! With this in mind, here you’ll find ‘alternative’ themes with a wider concern for the well being of you, & everything that surrounds you.

The quintessential, ‘in pursuit of happiness’ conundrum. Although no-one can dictate what your purpose is or what makes you happy (that’s your own path of discovery), I hope Zest Appeal will make your journey a more palatable one!
